A Not-for-Profit Consortium of Healthcare Supply Chain Executives…Marketing genuine value and keeping it fresh
A group of thought leading and innovative healthcare supply chain executives launched a unique organization for the purpose of bringing about transformative change for and across the entire healthcare supply chain. Building upon industry experience and a network of contacts in supply chain leadership positions, this group created a vibrant and operationally efficient consortium. However, internal and external communications was not a core competency and professional assistance was needed.
· Challenges
A complete communications strategy and implementation plan was needed to set this new enterprise on a productive course of action to get its messages out to its membership and to industry media and other key stakeholders. Additionally, the board of directors, comprised primarily of provider and supplier supply chain subject matter experts, needed marketing professional hands-on guidance on making the best and most cost effective use of the strategy at its inception and on an on-going basis. Not to mention, given the nature of the industry, budget dollar availability is appropriately frugal.
· Assistance Provided
Shortly after the inception of the organization a comprehensive communications plan was developed and integrated into the on-going administrative operation of the organization. Based on the successful implementation of this plan and the Trestle Point president’s depth of knowledge of healthcare and the healthcare supply chain subject matter, Trestle Point has continued its involvement with the evolution and maturation of the organization (from 2005 through 2012) by providing: a “vision/value challenge” session for the board of directors, assistance through a strategic visioning session carried out with its membership, a strategic reframing of the organization’s vision, mission and value proposition, exciting and contemporary communications vehicles and, most recently, an updated identity and communications style manual.
· Outcome/Client Assessment
The Trestle Point team has made a highly valued contribution to the continued success of the organization since its inception in 2005. With the professional guidance and support coming from Trestle Point and its president, the organization’s marketing and communications efforts have experienced decided improvement and effectiveness. The end result has been the projection of a first class organization not only in operation but in appearance as well.
